Importance of documentation

Documentation is the story of a business. It can tell you the origins, plans for the future and the journey the company is taking right now to achieve its ambitions. It assures your investors, clients and employees. It shows you care and know what you are doing.

What can you achieve with proper documentation?

• Build the company value

• Get the most out of your team

• Collaborate

• Reduce the training time

The Documentation Service is a specialised Virsas tool that allows you to document every aspect of your business in a simple format. Have your documentation at one place available to everyone or limited to members' only.

Documents

There are two ways to create a document. One is from the main page of the Documentation service. The second one is from the document management page located at the top right corner. You can create as many documents as you wish with any number of members. This way, each documentation can be delegated to own topic, accessible by a limited group of people and can contain only relevant pages.

Access

Members of a document can access, manage and read the pages of the documentation. Only an administrator can add or remove document members. The read and write access is based on the role assigned to each user and can be found in the user list.

Pages

Each document can contain any number of pages, and each page can contain any number of subpages. Just navigate to a page you need to create a subpage for and from the menu, create a new one. You can use the text editor to format the look of the page and also, you can add diagrams and images.

Markdown language

For advanced users and advanced formating, the service supports the markdown language. You can open the source of the page and create a document that looks exactly like you need.

Public access

You can share your documentation with your clients and customers. In this case, clients do not need to be registered users at Virsas. All you need to do is to share the URL, and anyone can read what is there.
