Emergency messages

Importance of emergency messaging service

During the outage, it is usual for your help desk to receive a large volume of calls about the issue. Even if you try to inform all employees in the company via all available channels, they may not see the information at the right time. With emergency notification tool, you can tell about the issue everyone at the same time at the same location and spend more time on fixing the problem that caused the outage.

The Emergency Messaging Service is a specialised Virsas tool that allows you to post information about an incident in real-time at one location visible to of your employees or clients.

The value of emergency messages

• Get your message seen quickly and easily

• Find all updates at one location

• Limit the information clutter

Team management

There are two ways to create a team. One is from the main page of the emergency messaging service. The second one is from the team management page located at the top right corner. You can create as many teams as you wish with any number of members. This way, each team can manage its list of emergency boards.

Access of team members

Members of a team can access, manage and read the incidents of the group. Only an administrator can add or remove team members. The read and write access is based on the role assigned to each user and can be found in the user list.

Creating a emergency messaging board

Within each team, you can create any number of boards. Each board should get a name and a description. Choose the board based on the level of the emergency or make it the same colour as your logo. You can also make the board public and inform your unregistered clients about the incident.

Alerts

You should update the board regularly with short and very informative messages for everyone to understand what is happening and what you did to resolve the incident. Each note has a timestamp, so you can use this board later to recreate a timeline in the postmortem meeting.

Public access

You can share your incident details with your clients. In this case, clients do not need to be registered users at Virsas. All you need to do is to share the URL, and anyone can see what is happening.
